No, of course the abbreviation BFF does not stand for this romantic idea of eternal friendship. Rather, "Barlow Frontpocket Fixed" should be meant here - at least this describes this compact fixed absolutely precisely. Here you get a pocket knife in the true sense of the word - just not for folding. The design of the BFF comes from none other than Lucas Burnley, who now has numerous designs of his knives produced by Böker. The handle of the BFF is so universally shaped that both small and somewhat larger hands can easily find room here. Only if you have exceptionally large paws, it could possibly be tight here. The rough micarta gives a great visual contrast to the brass pins. If you want to attach a bead, you can do so thanks to the large hollow rivet at the end of the handle. For the steel for the full-length blade, Böker have chosen AEB-L this time. This stainless alloy was originally used for the production of razor blades and takes on an incredible sharpness. The saber grind of the blade and the small swedge towards the tip, give the blade a look that is somewhat reminiscent of the knives from the colonial era of the USA - only in a handy pocket size. To make the BFF live up to its name, Böker have designed a leather sheath that you can "clip" to the hem of a jeans pocket thanks to a steel clip. So this little everyday companion is always within reach when you need it.

This knife is made of the ultra-tough but very cutting CPM 3V steel, which is one of the most popular alloys when the blade must withstand even the roughest loads. The blade was nevertheless ground so thin that in addition to the stability also very good cutting properties are given. At the front part of the blade back was ground an extremely sharp-edged 90 degree angle, with which you can effortlessly scribe the supplied fire steel. For the handle, Böker have opted for an injected TPE handle, which is simply fabulous in the hand and thanks to its texture is still safe to grip even with wet hands. With a total length of just under 200mm and a slightly thicker blade, the Cattle Knife can also be used to perform coarser tasks with ease. The taut back spring and the tightly engaging 90-degree half-stop provide the necessary safety. In keeping with the style of classic pocket knives, the Cattle Knife features brass liners and nickel silver bolsters. For the wood, the manufacturer chose burl birch, which comes into its own nicely here. The choice of blade steel, on the other hand, is somewhat more modern. The N690 produced by Böhler is on the one hand very rust resistant and on the other hand quite easy to resharpen. The longpull, which has been provided with a fine serration for tearing of superalloy match oil, allows a comfortable opening of the blade.
